Go and Tell

Matthew 28:18-20 NIV – Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

1. We Have a Message Worth Sharing

Romans 1:16 NIV –  For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Romans 3:23 KJV – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 5:8 NLT –  But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Romans 6:23 KJV – For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2. Love Must Be Our Motive

Matthew 9:36 MEV – But when He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they fainted and were scattered, like sheep without a shepherd.

Luke 15:4-7 The Message – Suppose one of you had a hundred sheep and lost one. Wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the lost one until you found it? When found, you can be sure you would put it across your shoulders, rejoicing, and when you got home call in your friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Celebrate with me! I’ve found my lost sheep!’ Count on it—there’s more joy in heaven over one sinner’s rescued life than over ninety-nine good people in no need of rescue.

3. Every Believer Has a Mission

Matthew 28:19 KJV – Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.

Romans 10:13-15 NIV –  for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!

4. Our Lives and Words Must Work Together

Matthew 5:14 NIV –  You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

1 Peter 3:15 NIV – But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

5. The Holy Spirit Gives Us Power

Acts 1:8 NIV –  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

1 Corinthians 3:6 KJV – I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
